Web 2.0 Usage Categories
As you go through the reviewed websites you will notice 5 different Usage Categories. Here you will discover what they all mean.

SACS District Site
These are websites that are approved for use in SACS through the AUP. It is either purchased or subscribed to by the school system as support for curriculum and infrastructure. The district AUP allows for student use. Parents should be aware of the AUP. It is an expectation of the teacher to read the sites Terms and Privacy pages before using with students.
Approved
This is a website that is approved for use in SACS and requires parent permission. This permission is granted when registering a child at SACS. This specific item is highlighted in the registration form online. Use of any of these sites should be posted on course syllabus and class website. It is an expectation of the teacher to read the sites Terms and Privacy pages before using with students. Please check Powerschool for these parent permissions. Not all parents may have agreed... so it is important to check. Be sure to read and follow the SACS Notes that come with each site.
Extra Permission Required
These are websites that SACS has determined through the vetting process that additional permission is needed. In this case teachers will send home an additional permission form that is to be filled out and kept on file in the teacher's classroom. Administrators will also need to approve the use of these sites. Use of any of these sites should be posted on course syllabus and class website. It is an expectation of the teacher to read the sites Terms and Privacy pages before using with students. Special permission form can be downloaded here. Denied
These sites for whatever reason have by denied during our vetting process. Often times these sites request more information then we deem safe to share. Terms of Use and Privacy Policies are updated often. If at a later date these updates make this site usable we will move it into one of the other categories. Also if we have approved another site that is very similar we could deny and suggest the other site as a replacement especially if it's a district site that we pay for.
